Qatar's leading lawyer and human rights activist, Hassan Al-Haydos, has passed away at the age of 72. Al-Haydos was a prominent figure in the country's legal and political landscape for many years, and his contributions to both fields were widely respected.

Born in Kuwait in 1948, Al-Haydos began his career as a lawyer in the early 1970s, working first in Kuwait before moving to Qatar in the late 1970s.
